Urban Agriculture
As the focus on locally produced foods has sharpened, our attorneys have represented clients in furtherance of urban agricultural initiatives. In addition to preparing regulations for community gardens and maintenance of back yard chickens, we have secured zoning rights for cultivation and distribution centers of medicinal agricultural products. Although traditional thinking suggests that urban living and agriculture are incompatible, our attorneys have identified ways to ensure that such uses can co-exist harmoniously.
For our attorneys, urban agriculture is not a fad: our founding partner was centrally involved in the development of Prairie Crossing, a nationally recognized conservation and agricultural community in the midst of suburban Grayslake, Illinois.
